Cucina ni Bunso

Today I visited a new restaurant owned by Mark and Mel at Sct. Lozano.

Plain Rice (P35)

 For sharing!!

Seafood Kare Kare (P340)

This is so different because it has seafood!! It has shrimp and tahong. wohoo. so yummy. The Kare Kare has distinct taste and is really different.

yummy home made bagoong (ulam. hahaha)

As what I have mentioned above, eto pa lang ulam na. hahaha. Seriously it has different taste, although I still love Bagoong Ilocano. hihi but this is just irresistible.

Beef Kaldereta (P345)

Something different for this one is the cheese. It makes the dish wonderful and very delicious.

Chicken ni Mel (P295) with gravy and Caramelized Apple

The chicken is marinated overnight and is roasted for one and half hour as said by the chef. The recipe is modified by the chef too. It is different from other chickens because of the taste and the gravy too. The side dish, Caramelized Apple is also delicious.

Lemongrass coolers (P45)

Yes, I can say that I would love to have this all day, it’s not that too sweet. hihi

Halo Halo Turon (P120)

This one is very new to me. I have never seen this yet but today. It’s very yummy and the presentation is very nice. You would see yourself eating just one piece of the turon.

Not yet in the menu, Bunso Bread.

It looks like a cinnamon roll but at the center it has bacon. It’s very tasty and you won’t regret trying it. The bread is very soft.

The Chef! Sir Mel. He is very accommodating.

Barley Gastropub

I was invited to a food tasting to this restaurant around Sgt. Esguerra and really had fun and was very happy tummy again with the food they served us. 😀

Appetizer

Fried Brie (P375)

(With guava jam and truffle oil)

It has a distinct taste that I did not expect that this food would have.

Rockin’ Oysters Rockefeller (P245)

(Topped with spinach, cream cheese and herb crust)

This particular food is very tasty from it’s cream cheese to the oyster itself. The spinach and herb crust has different taste also that makes this one of my favorites. 🙂

Risotto Balls (P295)

(With mozzarella stuffing and marinara sauce)

The mozzarella stuffing is very delicious ad well as the sauce.

 Roasted Bone Marrow (P295)

(With crostini, garlic confit, Himalayan pink salt and fresh lemon)

This death-difying is very delightful. You could really taste the “taba” of the bone marrow. hihi.

Big Plates

Lamb Shank Osso Buco (P520)

(With gremolata, roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes)

The lamb is very soft. The gremolata and vegetables are appetizing and it also has nice presentation.

 Foie Gras Burger (P690)

(With onion jam, gruyere, kosher pickles and potato fries)

The patty is very savory and soft. It has different taste than other patties sold in the market.

Crackling Pork Belly (P325)

(With peppercorn sauce, roasted vegetables and roasted potatoes)

It is gratifying and enticing to the eyes. The sauce is quite delicious and is different.

Beer in the Butt Chicken (P450)

(With BBQ sauce, roasted vegetables and roasted potatoes)

This is a mouthwatering dish as well as the very tasty sauce.

Angus Rib-Eye Cheese Steak and Fries (P720)

(Topped with sautéed onions, mushrooms, sweet peppers and mild cheddar. Served with potato fries.)

This is very scrumptious and very tempting to eat.Yes it’s a steak and it’s very soft and exquisite. And this is another favorite included on my list.

Pizza

Truffled Mushroom (P350)

(Tomato ragout, mozzarella cheese, fresh mushrooms and truffle oil)

The crust is very soft and the mushroom is ravishing.

Chorizo & Sweet Peppers (P325)

(Tomato ragout, mozzarella cheese, chorizo pamplona, onions and sweet peppers)

It’s just an ordinary pizza, no difference.

 Finale

Warm Chocolate Cake (P190)

(With salted caramel)

This dessert is very tempting to eat but it’s okay because it’s sweetness is not that bigtime that you would have diabetes. hihi. The salted caramel on the side makes it more delicious.

Frozen Grapes (P190)

It tastes like and Ice candy. hihi.

Thank you Openrice.com for inviting me to these food event. I had a great time. Happy tummy agaaaain because of these restaurant. 😀

Overall, Barley Gastropub has a lot of yummy and delicious food in store for you guys so check them out at Sgt. Esguerra Ave. cor. Sct. Bayoran St., Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
